I've had the privilege of knowing Ross for over five years, and in that time he's consistently shown why he has earned such an excellent reputation. When we first spoke, he reviewed my investment and savings strategy and was honest enough to tell me I didn't actually need his help — at a time when plenty of others in his position would have happily taken the management fees anyway. That honesty is rare, and it's exactly why I knew I'd never go anywhere else when it really mattered. When the time came to sort a mortgage for our first family home, Ross was the only person I considered, and he's been there for every remortgage since as our fixed terms have come up. He also arranged our protection policies, including life insurance and critical illness cover, making sure my family would be properly looked after should the worst happen. I cannot recommend Ross highly enough. We spoke to Ross to secure a mortgage for our first home. He could not have been better, he was always on hand on email and calls if required and was very responsive, we never had to chase him for progress as he was always ahead of the game. Due to other parties we lost out on the property we first wanted to buy which fell through at the last minute. Ross and Fairview were the only part of that process to not let us down which is why we continued to use them, we have now moved in and we will be returning to Ross and Fairview once our fixed term is up.

I had an advisor, who basically just scared me with figures that didn't really mean a thing to me (pension & retirement advice). A friend put me onto Ross who had a quick look at the report done by the previous advisor & told me I was already in a fairly good position (at which point he had no further information about what I wanted to do/what I needed etc). Ross set up a meeting with me, asked ME what I wanted/expected etc. He works in a slightly different way to most & looks at what YOU want to do & works towards THAT. At no point has he asked me for any money up-front (like the other did, £250 for a report that meant nothing to me + £500 if I'd gone ahead just to set it up, + fees, at the end of it I would have been nearly £12k worse off than just leaving it all alone). He is honest & if what you want is unachievable, he'll tell you exactly that & if possible, what you/he needs to do to get there, or at least close! I believe that I have now got the result I wanted, which is ACTUALLY BETTER than what I expected! We visited Fairview after I was made redundant, and wanted to discuss if I could retire early. Ross & Bradley sat down and prepared a plan for me to retire immediately and support my husband with his early retirement.  Circumstances changed 6 months later when unfortunately I was diagnosed with cancer. Again we went back to Ross who reviewed our financial plan and because of their previous advice, my husband was able to retire immediately and be with me through this journey. Without Ross & Bradley's advice my husband would still be working long hours. I cannot say how much we appreciate Fairview's, financial advice. Without them we would be in a very different situation. I recently met with Ross and his colleague Chris to discuss how I could best exploit my financial position to acheive better returns and achieve my financial ambitions. Not having done so before, I approached seeing a financial advisor with slight trepidation but was very pleasantly surprised at Ross and Chris' very friendly and professional approach; they gave me very useful and impartial advice on what my options were and how I could adjust my financial position to help achieve my aims - I found Ross to be clearly very knowledgeable in his field of financial management. Ross also followed up on my subsequent questions promptly and professionally. I did a lot of research on Financial Advisors before finding Ross Lacey, and I'm so glad I did. We're from a pretty average family, and aged 52, I'd never seen a financial advisor before. I wanted advice around a property purchase, involving not just me, but my mum. Ross was generous with his time, and encouraged us to ask any questions (we had a lot!) without any pressure, which really put us at our ease. I honestly can't speak highly enough of this guy! He is a patient, and most importantly to us, a kind man. He has a way of explaining things that makes complete sense, jargon-free, but with real expertise. Ross, Bradley and team have been superb from the off. I was recommended their services by a friend, and it has been nothing less than first class. The guys have provided me with advice and various options for taking my pension, and having only initially sought to find out what my pension might be worth, and when would be a good time to retire, they have worked out a plan for me to comfortably retire now, at 56, something I never dreamed of. I 1st met Ross around around 5 years ago when he advised me on my mortgage when it came to renew the deal that I was .Ross secured me a very good fixed rate deal .fast forward to current date I met Ross at his office for advice on how to proceed with my mortgage with a view to finishing the mortgage early and was given very sound and honest advice on how to do this. I wasn’t put under any pressure at all in which way to proceed but Ross did give me his recommendations in the best way forward. I can't thank him enough in the way that he goes about his business. I spoke to Ross about an upcoming severance package I’d been offered, as I was unsure whether it would be in my interests to take it & didn’t know what my options were. Ross was incredibly helpful and spent a considerable amount of time with me, talking through my options and giving me all of the information I needed to make an informed decision - the result of the work with Ross meant that I have been able to retire 5 years early! Turning 50, I wondered if there was enough in the pot to take some form of early retirement. Ross gave us the confidence to make that decision so that we can live our lives the way we want to. I had expected a financial planner to show us spreadsheets and charts, using lots of financial jargon. But Ross took the time to properly engage with us, understanding what we were looking for and what was important to us. We don’t have a massive budget, but Ross helped us to understand that we had enough to spend on the things - and the people - that we care about. Ross gave us the confidence not to worry about every financial transaction. We understand our parameters and we have regular reviews to confirm that we’re on track. I’ve always believed that it’s not about how much money you have, it’s about what that money can give you, in terms of experiences, fun and time spent with the people that you love. Ross always takes the time to check if we are happy with how we are living our lives, whether the money is giving us those things. For years, I’ve thought about taking a sailing course. I’ve no idea whether it’s for me, but I’d like to give it a go. Ross gave me the push I needed - he even gave me a link to a beginner’s course. My father recently passed away. As he took care of the financial side of things I thought it best to seek professional advice regarding my mother's affairs. I heard about Ross through a friend. Ross has helped us to understand my mum's current financial position and is supporting her with future financial planning now she is retired. He has given her an honest view of where she is financially and what she is able to spend going forward. As part of this he has made investment recommendations in terms of her inherited pension scheme and the investing of other cash she holds in ISAs and Unit Trusts. Being a pensioner, he has worked with her to identify the right level of investment risk to take, as well as making recommendations on how she can use her money in the right way to reduce tax implications. Ross kept us engaged every step of the way and with every decision, visiting us regularly at home to run through everything, always making sure mum's goals were kept on track. We were recommended Ross by a family friend. Ross was very helpful in guiding us through the process as first time buyers. Options and requirements were explained and he was adept at explaining what the pros and cons of various items were, as well as offering his own personal opinion whilst respecting your choice as a client. We had initially secured a 2 year fixed, at little hassle thanks to Ross and the team, but the interest rate mayhem in 2022 saw us want to switch to a 5 year. Ross and Kyrie were able to secure a new 5 year fixed within one day and acted very quickly to ensure we could achieve a reasonable rate. The product secured was withdrawn the following day, and we incurred no extra charge for this. Ross and the team were adept at keeping up to speed with the process and always reached out to see how things were progressing as well. I needed to remortgage and also wanted to discuss my other financial circumstances at the same time How has Ross Lacey helped you? Ross was excellent in all areas. He spent a lot of time trying to get to know me and my goals, asking lots of pertinent questions. Ross then discussed some life planing with me around savings and pensions and I used him as a soundboard for different options that I was considering. Ultimately Ross left me understanding all the options in detail and helped me to come to my own decision. Ross also took the time to seek out the best possible mortgage deal for my remortgage and secured us a better rate than expected (which meant having to pay off a tiny bit extra of our current mortgage upon switching). Furthermore he was also able to recommend a more than satisfactory solicitor to assist with that side of the process. Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for? Yes absolutely. The remortgage was smooth and the additional help from Ross on the life planning side of things was excellent. What could they have done better? I first contacted Ross a couple of years ago. He initially helped me to sort out some important insurances and improve existing ones, after he highlighted valuable information about my existing ones which I didn't know about. Since then he has helped me with financial planning, to see what options I have around my short and long-term goals. I have been in contact with Ross for a number of years and really appreciate his approach and professionalism. My inial contact with Ross was during a period where my grandma fell ill and required our family to navigate possible investments to support her care costs. We were recommended Ross and really appreciated how he approached the situation, due to the passing of my grandma we didn't need to pursue the advice Ross had provided, however we are still using happily Fairvew Financial for ongoing investment and mortgage advice. We used Ross to understand what we could afford when looking to move to a new house and whether our current protection was adequate for our family. Ross was brilliant, his knowledge, honesty and all round people skills really shone through when discussing our options and putting them in plain English. He constantly took the time to push all parties involved in the move to keep things on track, way beyond just finding us a good mortgage deal and arranging new cover.
